Shooting in Mount Vernon

MOUNT VERNON – City Police are investigating
an early morning shooting of a 20-year-old Bronx man that occurred on
Monday morning after he left a local establishment in Mount Vernon.

The victim, who was with a friend at Sues Rendezvous at 96 Gramatan Avenue,
left the club around 3 a.m., and told police he was shot in the left leg
by an unknown person while walking in the area of East Sidney Avenue and
North 3rd Avenue.

The victim was taken to an area hospital by ambulance where he underwent
surgery. His injury is not considered life threatening, police said.

The victim provided no suspect information to the police. There were no
other victims shot in the incident.
