NEW YORK – Westchester County-based Iona College has been granted Start-Up NY status for 50,000 square feet of space in its Rockland County satellite campus in Pearl River.
The Start-Up NY Approval Board Friday gave its approval for the designation at the Blue Hill Plaza location.
Judy Tholl, an Empire State Development program specialist, said they have a specific use for the space.
“The college has identified high-tech companies specializing in large data analytics as potential startup partners,” Tholl said. “To date, Iona has been in discussion with two prospective companies that are interested in partnering with the newly formed Center of Healthcare Analytics, and that is at their Westchester main campus.”
Companies that locate in the newly designated Rockland space will be given tax-free status as part of the program.
