ELLENVILLE – A Wawarsing man is charged with engaging in sexually explicit communication with a 14-year-old girl on Facebook over a three-week period.
Christopher Haight, 23, was charged with felony disseminating indecent materials to a minor and misdemeanors of endangering the welfare of a child and forcible touching.
State Police said Haight also communicated with the girl via text messaging. The communications became sexually explicit as they talked about having sex and getting married. Pictures of a sexual nature were exchanged between the two and when they met, Haight groped the child’s buttocks, police said.
The two had later made arrangements to meet for sex, but the girl’s mother intervened and prevented the planned interaction.
Haight was arraigned and released on his own recognizance.
