POUGHKEEPSIE – A Lagrangeville man, who is a former part-time Dutchess County deputy sheriff and a former part-time Town of Marlborough Police officer, has been arrested for impersonating a police officer.
The sheriff’s detective bureau arrested Frederick Eberhard, 25, last Thursday, February 19 after investigating complaints from local towing companies that he had allegedly been pretending to be a police officer. Eberhard had been working for one of the companies as a drive, and during the course of doing business had crossed paths with some of the local drivers at the scenes.
Police charged Eberhard with criminal impersonation as a misdemeanor and released him on an appearance ticket.
