Two indicted in New Paltz attack

KINGSTON – The Ulster County grand
jury has indicted two men in connection with a July 2014 assault at a
residence in the Town of New Paltz.

Niko Soto, 19, and Angel Rios, 23, were indicted on charges of felony
assault and criminal mischief.

New Paltz Police were called to a residence in the Town of New Paltz where
they found a man with several lacerations to his head. The suspects had
fled the scene before they arrived.

The victim had been struck with a blunt metal object, was transported
to the hospital and later released.

A witness was able to provide the police with a license plate number and
description f the vehicle, which was stopped by an Ulster County Sheriff’s
patrol.

At the time of their arrests, both men were committed to the county jail
in lieu of bail.
