KINGSTON – Ulster-Greene ARC has received two grants from New York State’s Balancing Incentive Program Transformation Fund totaling over $612,000 through the Office for People with Development Disabilities.
The money will be used to fund start-up costs for new employment opportunities for people affected by intellectual and other developmental disabilities in Ulster and Greene counties and enhance public transportation services in Greene County.
The grants will directly support the creation of a food and catering service, lawn care business and commercial cleaning unit, and improve public transportation in Greene County.
As a result of the grants, the ARC will be able to provide vocational training, create 36 new jobs and offer real work experience to those who wish to pursue work in those fields of employment at currently established businesses.
