Lots of spilled milk on Route 22

COPAKE – A fully loaded 18-wheel milk tanker skidded on a snow-covered Route 22 in the Town of Copake early Monday afternoon, overturning and spilling milk. The cargo kept leaking all afternoon from truck, registered to A.J.P. Trucking of Roxbury, CT.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office said the truck, driven by
Lynn Thompson, 51, of Roxbury, CT. was traveling westerly on North Mountain
Road approaching the intersection with Route 22 when it skidded on the
snow covered road as it went down a hill. The driver tried to turn right
onto Route 22; however, the rear trailer tires went into a culvert ditch
causing the truck to overturn blocking north and southbound lanes.
Thompson was not injured.
Hillsdale and Copake fire departments were on the scene along with the state transportation department and state Department of Environmental Conservation.
The sheriff’s office investigation is ongoing.
