TOWN OF ULSTER – A Stanfordville man
was arrested by Kingston State Police on charges of felony grand larceny
and misdemeanors of petit larceny and resisting arrest following an investigation
into the theft of three Dyson vacuums from the Target store in the Hudson
Valley Mall in the Town of Ulster.
An investigation revealed that Bruce Williamson, 23, allegedly entered the store on February 5, removed the electronic security devices from two vacuums valued at $1,049 and left the store without paying for them.
Police continued to investigate and found that on February 7, Williamson entered the same store, removed the security device from a third vacuum valued at $500 and left the store without paying for it.
The following day, he was observed by Target loss prevention members attempting to steal a fourth vacuum. He discarded the merchandise and left the store but was located by Town of Ulster and State Police near the Sam’s Club store and taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit near the parking lot of Gander Mountain.
Williamson was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
