TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – Two men have
been charged with felony assault after they allegedly beat up another
man following a cab ride in the Town of Poughkeepsie early Wednesday morning.
The victim suffered facial fractures and several abrasions and bruises
as a result of the attack. He was treated at MidHudson Regional Hospital.
The two suspects, Albert Berishaj, 20, of 271 Devon Farms Road in East
Fishkill and Kevin Gerald Lennox, 22, of 50 Locust Drive in Brewster were
each committed to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail
or $40,000 bond.
Poughkeepsie Town Police were called to Fairview Avenue around 1:40 a.m.
and found a man injured, lying in the street. The two suspects involved
in the beating had fled the scene, but were located shortly thereafter
in a nearby house.
