ALBANY – The New York State Public Service Commission is going to conduct a public hearing in Kingston next month on its regulatory component of the state’s strategic energy plan, Reforming the Energy Vision.
The hearing, to be held at Kingston City Hall on Wednesday, February 4 at 6 p.m., is one of several being conducted across the state.
On April 25, 2014, the PSC instituted the Reforming the energy Vision proceeding to align electric utility practices and the commission’s regulatory paradigm with technological advances that have created alternatives to traditional solutions to meeting electricity demand.
Specifically, the commission is considering a new business model for energy service providers where Distributed Energy Resources become a primary tool in the planning and operation of the electric system.
