Burke

POUGHKEEPSIE – Police are looking for the man they believe was videotaped beating a dog in Pulaski Park near Talmadge Street in the City of Poughkeepsie last month.
The man has been identified as Theophilus Burke, 37, of Brooklyn and the animal was his dog, “Gizmo.” The dog is a two to three year old small white dog, possibly a Maltese.
A Dutchess County Court arrest warrant has been filed against Burke charging him with animal cruelty.
Burke’s last known address in Brooklyn was checked and he is not living there anymore, although it is believed that he is still living in New York City with the dog.
Anyone with information on Burke’s whereabouts is asked to call Poughkeepsie City Police at 845-451-7577.
