LIBERTY – The new year was off to a bad start for two Liberty residents
when they were arrested by Liberty Village Police after an investigation
into a residential burglary.

their home had been broken into on Christmas day and several items including
an AR-15 rifle had been stolen.

Police executed a search warrant on an apartment in the village in the
early morning hours of New Year’s Day and recovered all of the stolen
property including the rifle.

Daniel Doty was charged with burglary, grand larceny and criminal possession
of a weapon, all felonies, and possession of burglar’s tools as
a misdemeanor. He was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail.

Kaitlin Doty was charged with criminal possession of stolen property and
