Tractor-trailer fire snarls Route 17 traffic on Saturday

MONROE – A tractor-trailer fire on Saturday on the westbound side of Route 17 in Monroe closed the road down for approximately 30 minutes.  Significant traffic delays resulted from the blaze.

The Monroe fore department responded to the noontime fire on May 7the to find the tractor fully engulfed in flames.  The truck was pulling a dump trailer.

No injuries were reported.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
