Woodstock – Cornelius M. “Connie” Maclary died, Friday, February 2, 2024, at Mid-Hudson Region Hospital in Poughkeepsie. He was 85 years old.
Born August 6, 1938, in Saugerties, he was the son of the late Arthur Maclary and the late Madeline King Maclary. On September 15, 1962, he married the former Roseanne Lane. At age 65 after more than 44 years of service, he retired from Ametek Rotron. He also had worked as a roofer.
A former member of the CA Lynch Fire Company in Saugerties, he was also a 60 plus year life member of Woodstock Fire Company. Also, he was a member of the Shady United Methodist Church. Before Ancestry.com, Connie was the go-to historian for both the Maclary Family and the Lane Family. He was a storyteller and loved his family immensely.
In addition to his wife, survivors include, his two daughters, Kathy Smith and her husband Clarence “Chuck” of Woodstock and Luanne Quick and her husband Rick of Woodstock; his sister-in-law Mary Lane; and his sister Janet Pedersen of Woodstock.
A Funeral service will be held 8:00 PM Friday, February 9, 2024, at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Saugerties, NY. A private cremation will follow, and inurnment will take place at a future date in Woodstock Rural Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 2:00 pm until 4 pm and from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Buono Funeral Service, Inc.
