KINGSTON – RUPCO is accepting applications for the Revitalize Broadway Corridor Program to assist property and business owners within certain target areas on Broadway in Kingston with funding to renovate exterior facades and storefronts, execute interior commercial renovations, or rehabilitate residential units.

The properties must be located in the target areas on Broadway, which are the western Midtown five-block section from the Albany Avenue roundabout to the Broadway and Grand intersection and the Waterfront three-block section from McEntee Street to the Rondout Creek.

The program’s purpose is to revitalize Broadway by funding exterior and interior renovations that will support small businesses and increase the number of affordable housing units in Kingston and to enhance the streetscape public square at the Broadway and Grand intersection in this mixed-use corridor.

Grants of up to $50,000 for building renovations and $100,000 for building renovations with housing units may be awarded to qualified applicants. Eligible renovations include health and safety improvements, accessibility improvements, energy efficiency improvements, facade restoration, residential improvements and preparation of commercial spaces for tenants.

The state is kicking in $387,500 while the city is adding at least $75,000 in ARPA funds allotted to support minority and women-owned businesses and property owners who are awarded funds through the Main Street program.

RUPCO will be conducting three public informational meetings:
