MAMAKATING – State Police from the Wurtsboro barracks Monday released the name of a 22-year-old Middletown man who was killed in a head-on crash on Route 209 in Mamakating on Friday morning.
Police said Shumaar Seward, 22, was driving a 2010 Toyota Venza northbound when for unknown reasons he crossed into the opposite lane of travel and struck a 2020 Dodge Charger driven by Susan Pander, 48, of Bloomingburg.
Seward was pronounced dead at the scene while Pander sustained minor injuries.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
State Police were assisted by Mamakating EMS.
