The rain did keep Chewbacca and Darth Vader indoors

CARMEL – The weather outside was positively frightful yet Sunday’s heavy rains failed to dampen the spirits of the annual Ragamuffin Parade organized by the Carmel Civic Association.
Dozens of boys and girls donned their favorite Halloween costume and paraded through the halls of Carmel High School where a party took place inside the school’s cafeteria after the costumes were judged.
Carmel Supervisor Ken Schmitt, Sheriff Don Smith, County Executive MaryEllen Odell and Legislators Toni Addonizio and Carl Albano all agreed that the judging was the most difficult ever since so many original costumes were created for Tuesday’s Halloween trick or treating.
