CRAWFORD- Assemblyman Brian Maher and Town of Crawford Supervisor Charles E. Carnes will co-host a roundtable discussion on the growing overdose crisis facing all New York communities on Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Town of Crawford Senior and Community Center, 115 NY-302 in Pine Bush. With the rise of street drugs laced with fentanyl, opioids and related synthetics and xylazine, families, emergency services including law enforcement and treatment facilities are faced with an overwhelming battle against the deadly scourge.

Discussions will center on current conditions, the local impact of the crisis, the education and engagement of students and what Maher and the Legislature can pursue to ensure better treatment, a path to recovery and that law enforcement has the tools to keep these drugs out of communities.
