Three indicted for Ossining home burglary; one charged with hate crimes

WHITE PLAINS – Three men have been indicted in connection with a September 2023 residential burglary in Ossining following a multi-agency investigation.

Westchester District Attorney Miriam Rocah said it is alleged that shortly after noon on September 29, 2023, the men unlawfully entered the home of a local business owner, who is Asian, and stole designer handbags. The suspects were in possession of burglar’s tools used to break into the home.

It was alleged that the home was targeted based on stereotypes about their wealth.

Juan Carlos Sierra Gonzalez, 48, of East Elmhurst, was charged with four counts of burglary as a hate crime, two counts of burglary and possession of burglar’s tools.

Jaime Bryan Chang Fuentes, 25, of Jamaica, was charged with two counts of burglary, grand larceny and possession of burglar’s tools.

Job Vera Zambrano, 25, of Corona, was charged with two counts of burglary, grand larceny and possession of burglar’s tools.

During a coordinated takedown, Ossining Police, with assistance from several other police agencies, converged on the victims’ home and arrested the burglar’s during the incident.
