‘No comment’ from Monticello mayor why new police chief fired
MONTICELLO – After being on the job for just a few weeks, Monticello Police Chief Jason Corley was let go on Tuesday.
Last week, Mid-Hudson News featured Corley in his new job.
The newly sworn-in mayor, Rochelle Massey, meanwhile, appointed David Lindsey as the acting chief of police. He could not be reached for comment on Thursday.
At village hall on the same day, the mayor declined to speak to a reporter as to why Corley was abruptly terminated.
Corley confirmed he had a contract with the village, but it was unclear if the village would honor it.
