Screen legend Russ Tamblyn coming to Bethel Woods April 13th

BETHEL- On April 13, 2024, Academy Award-nominated actor, dancer, choreographer, director and artist best known as Riff in the iconic 1961 film West Side Story and Dr. Jacoby in David Lynch’s Twin Peaks, as well as for his contribution to the art, music, and counterculture movements of the 1960s is coming to Bethel Woods for a conversation with his daughter, local activist, actress, director, and author Amber Tamblyn and to sign copies of his new autobiography.

Published by Blackstone Publishing, Dancing on the Edge chronicles more than eighty years of working with legendary directors Robert Wise, David Lynch, Quentin Tarantino, teaching the likes of Elvis some of his signature dance moves, attending school with Elizabeth Taylor, and foraging life long friendships with peers Dennis Hopper and Neil Young. He shares the painful breakup of a twenty-year marriage and the joy of finding true love and inspiration as a husband, father, and mentor. Dancing on the Edge is an intimate and powerful story about one of our most gifted storytellers, artists, and stars of the silver screen.
Russ’ daughter, Amber Tamblyn, is an accomplished actress, director, author and activist. She starred in television shows General Hospital (Emily Quartermaine), her Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated role as Joan Girardi in Joan of Arcadia, The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret with husband David Cross, and most recently in FX’s Y: The Last Man opposite Diane LaneHer film work includes Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, 127 Hours, Stephanie Daley, and in 2016, she made her directorial debut with Paint it Black,  based on Janet Finch’s novel of the same name. She began writing at age 11 and has penned books of poems including Free Stallion, Ditto, Of the Dawn, Plenty of Ships, and Dark Sparkler, novel Any Man, as well as feminist manifestos Era of Ignition and Listening in the Dark.  
The gift shop at the Museum at Bethel Woods will stock Russ’ book and guests will be invited to a book signing and conversation with Russ and Amber in the Museum at Bethel Woods Theatre at 5 p.m.
