PUTNAM VALLEY – The Assistant EMS Coordinator for the Town of Patterson is facing several charges following a motor vehicle accident with a Putnam County Sheriff’s deputy.  The accident occurred at approximately 10:45 p.m. on April 5, on Peekskill Hollow Road in Putnam Valley.

On Friday the deputy was traveling north on Peekskill Hollow Road when a vehicle traveling south crossed into his lane, striking the patrol vehicle.  The deputy sustained eye and hand injuries and was transported to Hudson Valley Hospital for treatment.

Town of Patterson Assistant EMS Coordinator Jennifer Hunt, 42, was the driver of the southbound vehicle.  Hunt was observed to be intoxicated and failed the field sobriety tests at the accident scene, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.

She was arrested and charged with the felonies of vehicular assault and aggravated unlicensed operation.  Hunt was also charged with the misdemeanor DWI.  Traffic tickets were also issued to her for operating with a license restriction, failure to keep right, move from lane unsafely, speed not reasonable and prudent, and operating a vehicle while using a mobile phone.

Hunt was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and was arraigned in the Town of Putnam Valley Court where she was released on her own recognizance to appear at a future court date.
