POUGHKEEPSIE – A 34-year-old man was shot on Main Street early Saturday morning and sustained serious life-threatening injuries. City of Poughkeepsie police responded to the report of a shooting near 444 Main Street at 4:23 a.m. when they located the victim.
Officers immediately began life-saving measures while others began to investigate the incident.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for further treatment.
A portion of Main Street was closed for several hours as crime scene technicians canvassed the area for evidence.
