POUGHKEEPSIE – Camay Pryce, convicted in February of vehicular manslaughter and driving while ability impaired by drugs for the death of Erin “Doc” Clancy, a veteran of the US Navy, is scheduled to be sentenced today in Dutchess County Court.  The 35-year-old Pryce was high on drugs when she recklessly passed several cars on Route 44 in Pleasant Valley before slamming head-on into Clancy’s vehicle.

Clancy was a well-known veteran who assisted veteran programs throughout the area before his September 7, 2022 death at the hands of Pryce.  The killer has been in custody of the Dutchess County Jail since April 6, 2023 after police tracked her down and arrested her.

She faces a maximum prison sentence of seven years for the vehicular manslaughter charge and one year in prison for the misdemeanor DWAI conviction when County Court Judge Jessica Segal makes a decision today (March 21, 2024).  Pryce also faces fines that can be imposed by the court.
