Teen facing felony in attack on classmate at Meadow Hill School

NEWBURGH- A 13-year-old boy who attends Meadow Hill School has been arrested by the Town of Newburgh Police Department for assaulting a classmate last week.

Authorities were called to the school at approximately 2:20 p.m. last Friday after the suspect allegedly struck the victim, a 13-year-old girl, with a chair. The girl was transported to Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, where she was treated for injuries and released. The suspect, along with his parents, was taken to the Town of Newburgh Police Department, where he was arrested.

After conferring with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, the suspect was charged with felony assault. He was processed and turned over to his parents to appear in Juvenile Court at a later date.
