POUGHKEEPSIE- Anderson Center for Autism and Mill House Brewing Company today announced details of the 2024 Mr. Anderson Ale event.  Mill House has been crafting its special brew in honor of Anderson Center for Autism’s founder, Dr. Victor V. Anderson, for ten years, raising funds and awareness about the nonprofit organization.

This year, the theme of the launch event will be “A Century of Impact, A Decade of Beer” – marking both Anderson Center for Autism’s Centennial and ten years of the signature beer being crafted by Mill House Brewing Company. The celebration, which requires advance ticket purchase, is scheduled for Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Mill House Brewing Company, 289 Mill Street in Poughkeepsie.  It is open to the public.

Explained Patrick Paul, CEO/Executive Director of Anderson Center for Autism said, “This longtime tradition will be extra-meaningful this year as we celebrate our 100-year anniversary and acknowledge the fact that Mill House has now crafted ten beers in honor of our founder.  The educational, vocational, residential, clinical, and training programs we offer today are due in large part to the vision that Dr. Anderson had back in 1924; we look forward to acknowledging his leadership and contributions all year long, and certainly as we pour the 2024 edition of Mr. Anderson Ale.”

Jamie Bishop, Owner/Brewmaster at Mill House Brewing Company said, “Every year we look forward to April.  We believe the best beers are beers with a purpose.  That’s Mr. Anderson Ale:  a beer with a purpose.  Our goal at Mill House is to help raise awareness and this year we are getting other local businesses involved.  We want to spread the message far and wide.  10 years of brewing and 100 years of dedication to Autism are both great accomplishments.  We are honored to partner with such a great local organization!”

Eliza Bozenski, Chief Development Officer for Anderson Foundation for Autism said, “We are extremely grateful to our friends at Mill House Brewing Company for their ongoing support, and cannot think of a better time for people to raise a glass of Mr. Anderson Ale than in our Centennial year – and with this tenth edition of the beer!”

Bozenski continued, “All of us are so proud of Anderson Center for Autism’s rich history and excited about the next century ahead; this event will be a wonderful opportunity for the broader community to share in this historic moment with us.”

Bozenski added that Anderson founder Victor Anderson’s legacy of service to this population continues with his grandson, Vance Gage.

Gage served as honorary brewmaster when the first batch of Mr. Anderson Ale was created over a decade ago.  The resident of the Washington, DC area plans to travel to Poughkeepsie for the event on April 4th.  He was also in attendance at Anderson Center for Autism’s 100-year kickoff event in January.

Paul noted, “It will also be our great privilege to present Vance Gage with the V. V. Anderson Award, named for his grandfather, at Anderson Center for Autism’s Centennial Gala – recognition that is truly well-deserved. That event will be held at The Grandview in Poughkeepsie on September 28, 2024.”

Said Gage, “It is an honor to be participating in the celebration of Anderson Center for Autism’s opening and its many accomplishments since 1924.  From the beginning, my grandfather’s mission was to help people with special needs – and it is remarkable that 100 years later, Anderson continues to carry that out.”

Following the launch event on April 4th, $1 of every pint sold by Mill House Brewing Company during April (Autism Acceptance Month) will be donated to Anderson Center for Autism.  Mill House will also be offering a select amount of sixtel kegs to help spread awareness and raise additional funds.  Each account will pay the selected donation amount upon purchase of the keg.  Examples of participating companies include Half Time Beverage in Poughkeepsie, DeCiccos in Brewster, and Farmer’s & Chef’s in Poughkeepsie.

Proceeds of the Mr. Anderson Ale launch event, “A Century of Impact, A Decade of Beer,” will directly benefit programs and services provided by Anderson Center for Autism.  Tickets are $35 per person. Beer, wine, and appetizers are included.
