Basement fire leads to two-alarm response in Beacon

BEACON – The City of Beacon Fire Department responded to a fire in a single-family home at 39 Falconer Street at about 11:50 a.m. on Sunday that required a two-alarm response.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, they were met with a large amount of smoke emanating from the residence, said Fire Chief Thomas Lucchesi.

Village of Fishkill and Castle Point fire departments responded to the scene and the fire was located and extinguished in the basement of the home.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Dutchess County Fire Investigation Division.

Beacon City Police, Dutchess County Cars 13 and 17, Beacon Medic 1, Beacon Volunteer Ambulance all provided assistance at the scene.

Glenham and Rombout fire departments provided standby coverage for the city.

The Beacon Fire Departed the scene at 3:08 p.m.
