Neuhaus hosts inaugural Leadership Speaker Series event

GOSHEN- On Thursday, February 1, Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus, successfully hosted the inaugural Leadership Speaker Series event at the county’s Emergency Services Center. The event marked the beginning of an empowering forum to bring together established and emerging leaders from diverse organizations in Orange County to foster leadership, professional development, and community enhancement through networking.

The first installment of the Leadership Speaker Series featured speaker Maj. Gen. John F. Hussey (Ret.). It drew an impressive crowd of 150 attendees from various sectors, including public service, business, and non-profit organizations.

Maj. Gen. Hussey has a decorated 38-year military career. He was the commanding general of the 200th Military Police Command, a division-level headquarters that commands 97 percent of the Army Reserve military police assets and soldiers. His most notable prior assignments include serving as Commander of the 306th Military Police Battalion at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq in 2005, Commander of the 3rd Brigade Civil Affairs/Psychological Operations, and the Deputy Commander of Joint Task Force Guantanamo.

“It was an interactive discussion with Maj. Gen. Hussey sharing his wealth of knowledge, inspirational stories, and providing invaluable insights into effective leadership practices,” said Neuhaus. “The enthusiasm and engagement of those in attendance underscored the event’s success in creating a platform for collaboration and exchanging valuable insights.”

The Leadership Speaker Series is set to continue in the spring, with future events planned to build on the success of the inaugural gathering.
