Ulster Dems endorse candidates for fall elections

KINGSTON – The Ulster County Democratic Committee has endorsed its slate of candidates for the fall general election, and they include incumbent State Assemblywoman Sarahana Shrestha (D, Esopus) for reelection. Gabi Madden, who recently announced her challenge to the first-term lawmaker, said she would take her candidacy to directly to Democratic voters on the June 25 primary. “This is just the beginning of our campaign,” she said.

The political committee also endorsed Michelle Hinchey (D, Saugerties) and Joathan Jacobson (D, Newburgh) for re-election.

The party also endorsed Michele Frazier in her bid to unseat Republican Pete Oberacker (R, Oneonta). 

The Ulster Democratic Committee also backed Keri Savona for county family court judge, Josh Riley for Congress in the 19th District and incumbent Pat Ryan for the 18th Congressional District.

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were also endorsed for reelection as was US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.

The general election this year will be held on Tuesday, November 5.
