TOWN OF NEWBURGH – A three-vehicle crash near the intersection of Route 300 and Union Avenue Extension in the Town of Newburgh at 9:40 a.m. on Wednesday claimed the life of a Poughkeepsie woman, police say.

Town Police said a 2019 Ford box truck was northbound on Route 300 approaching a curve in the road when that vehicle, driven by Luis Cintron, 49, of Philadelphia crossed into the southbound lane and struck a 2019 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Michael Gessner, 37, of Wallkill.

After the Ford and Ram collided, the Ford continued northbound in the southbound lane and struck a 2016 Ford Edge, driven by Tureli Quinci, 68, of Poughkeepsie.

She was transported to Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital where she died, police said.

Newburgh Town Police were assisted by a State Police Accident Reconstruction Team, along with Central Hudson and Mobile Life Support Services.

There were no charges lodged at this time while the investigation continues.
