POUGHKEEPSIE – The jury in the trial of Camay Pryce, 35, delivered a guilty verdict on Thursday afternoon, finding her guilty of vehicular manslaughter and driving while ability impaired by drugs for the death of Erin “Doc” Clancy, a veteran of the US Navy.  The crash occurred on September 7, 2022, on Route 44 in Pleasant Valley.  At that time, the jury validated the assertion that Pryce was under the influence of drugs when she attempted to pass two eastbound vehicles in a no-passing zone and struck Clancy’s vehicle, which was traveling westbound, head-on.  Clancy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dutchess County Senior Assistant District Attorneys Jennifer Fluck and Anna Diehn prosecuted the case against Pryce, who has been in the Dutchess County Jail since her arrest on April 19, 2023.  Police had been searching for her for several days, armed with an arrest warrant after the grand jury indicted her on April 6, 2023.  She was located in Poughkeepsie and taken into custody.

After the jury announced the verdict, Dutchess County Court Judge Jessica Segal thanked them for their service and relieved them from their duties.  Turning her attention to the defendant, still dressed in an orange Dutchess County Jail jumpsuit, Judge Segal announced that she was being remanded back to the jail to await sentencing.

She faces a maximum prison sentence of seven years for the vehicular manslaughter charge and one year in prison for the misdemeanor DWAI conviction.  She also faces fines that can be imposed by the court at sentencing on March 21, 2024.
