POUGHKEEPSIE – A fight on the grounds of Poughkeepsie High School Monday afternoon at dismissal resulted in multiple police agencies being summoned to the area.  Two teens were transported from the scene by police.

Police say that approximately 40 to 50 students were gathered around a fight taking place between a few students.

With the manpower shortage in place at the City of Poughkeepsie police department, Town of Poughkeepsie police joined every on-duty city cop in responding to the melee.

After the crowd was dispersed, a 16-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl were taken to the City of Poughkeepsie Juvenile Division of the police department.  Officials say that both teens are facing multiple charges for their involvement.

The cases will be transferred to Dutchess County Family Court because of their ages.
