Two arrested following Ulster traffic stop

KINGSTON – Two men were arrested overnight on January 2 following a traffic stop on South Main Street in the Village of Ellenville.

The driver, Christopher Klein, 35, of Youngsville, was charged by Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies with driving while intoxicated and criminal possession of a controlled substance – Buprenorphine.

A passenger, Marvin Washington, was taken into custody on an active warrant for his arrest out of the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office and was found in possession of cocaine.

Klein was released on an appearance ticket. Washington was released on an appearance ticket and turned over to the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office on the outstanding warrant.
