PORT JERVIS – The Port Jervis train station, which was constructed last year as a modern facility for passengers on the first stop of the Metro-North line of the same name, was vandalized on Wednesday night.

A person or persons broke out a glass mural inside the facility, something new Mayor Dominic Cicalese finds very disheartening.

“A lot of effort did go into those murals that are set in glass and unfortunately one of the murals was destroyed. It’s disheartening to hear that type of vandalism going on,” he said.

Metropolitan Transportation Police are investigating the incident.
