MID-HUDSON – We may not have gotten a white Christmas but can expect a snowy early January as the weatherman says snow will begin to fall late Saturday afternoon and continue through late Sunday.
Several inches are expected in the region prompting motorists to line up Friday evening at tire stores to buy snow tires, which are better in snowy conditions that all-season tires.
In recent years, more people have been sticking to their all-seasons, but apparently the forecast convinced more people to run out and make the last-minute purchase of snow tires.
Regardless of which route you take, go slow and leave plenty of space between you and the other drivers in the event you have to stop rapidly or skid.
