NEWBURGH – A student at Horizon on the Hudson school in the Newburgh school district has passed away school officials announced.
“The student joined our school community earlier this year and was always kind and exceptionally polite as they transitioned to their new school,” school officials said on Monday.
Officials did not said if the child was a boy or girl or its age.
“The loss of a child of any ages can be difficult to understand and process. Our hearts break for this child’s family and for those who knew and loved them,” officials said.
They said students “may experience grief as a result of the untimely passing of a peer, simply by learning of the loss.”
District officials said their Critical Stress Management Team has been activated to support Horizon on the Hudson as needed.
