MOUNT VERNON – Nurses at Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital have voted overwhelmingly in favor of a new contract.
The agreement includes what the New York State Nurses Association called “historic wage increases” that bring the nurses in line with pay standards of the Montefiore Bronx facilities and improvements in working conditions, including strengthened safe staffing enforcement language.
The pact also includes healthcare benefits and upholds the nurses association pension at no added cost.
It also provides increased tuition refunds and new mentorship programs, and increased pay for added responsibilities.
