ROSENDALE- The Ulster County Beekeepers’ Association will host its monthly meeting on January 8, 2024 at 7 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Rosendale Recreation Center located at 1055 NY-32, Rosendale, NY.
Jacob Pecenka will be presenting, “Effect of an IPM program on pollinator performance and crop yield.”
Pecenka is a research entomologist and agroecologist at the California Organic Center, Rodale Institute.
He will talk about his insecticide programs to test whether a reduction in sprays could limit pest populations while improving pollinator health and crop yield using watermelon crops. Hopefully resulting in more sustainable operations for both grower and beekeeper.
