Monhagen is opening on Thursday

TOWN OF WALLKILL – Monhagen Middle School will be open on Thursday with a three-hour delay schedule.

Superintendent of Schools Amy Creeden said students will have to go through a metal detector when they arrive and no school-issued devices and backpacks or large bags will be permitted in the building.

“Since our focus for (Thursday) is on healing, recovery, and processing o0ur next steps forward, backpacks, bags, and Chromebooks will not be needed. We will share space, support recovery, and get out young people access to any resources they may need,” the supervisor said.

She said anyone who needs support or resources in addressing this incident with your young person should r each out to a member of the school administration.
