NEWBURGH – A man said his cousin was shot to death in Newburgh, but there is no confirmation of that.

Newburgh city officials said they have no information about a homicide over the weekend or Monday.

Major Bradley told Mid-Hudson News his cousin, Hyram Bolder and he, were in Middletown catching up on the newspapers when he left to go back to Newburgh.

He called him the next day and got no answer, only to be told by relatives that he had been shot in the head.

Bradley said Bolder was an all-around good person with a good job.

“He worked at the post office, I think as a mail handler. He was there for 40-something years,” said Bradley.

No other information was available from law enforcement officials.
