WHITE PLAINS – Westchester County has been assigned a “AAA” credit rating by Fitch Ratings. That is the highest designation possible and underscores the county’s commitment to maintaining a solid financial foundation, the agency noted.

S&P Global Ratings has also revised the county’s outlook from stable to positive and affirmed its “AA+” long-term rating on the county’s latest bond issuances.

The Fitch rating “not only reflects the county’s current financial standing but also positions it favorably for future economic challenges and opportunities,” said County Executive George Latimer.

The positive outlook from S&P “reflects the county’s strong financial performance, prudent financial management and our ability to navigate economic uncertainties,” he said.
