Gunshots in Poughkeepsie; one strikes front door of home

POUGHKEEPSIE – Two incidents of gunfire on Wednesday are under investigation by Poughkeepsie City Police.

At about 9:20 a.m., police were called to the area of Flannery Avenue.

No victims were located; however, a canvass of the area led to the recovery of several shell casings.

That evening, at 8:25 p.m., shots were reported in the area of North White Street.

No evidence was found that evening, but at about 9:45 a.m. the next day, a follow up investigation located several spent shell casings and a bullet strike to the front door of a residence.

Investigations into both cases is continuing and anyone with information is asked to call the confidential tip line at 845-451-7577.
