HIGHLAND- Saint Augustine’s Parish in Highland is excited to announce that it will be holding its First Annual Flavors of the World Christmas Market from Saturday, December 2 through Sunday, December 3 at St Augustine’s School, 35 Philips Avenue in Highland.

This event, the first of its kind for St Augustine’s, will feature authentic cuisines from over 12 countries from around the globe.  These foods will include, but are not limited to:  Turkish, Argentinian, German, Indian, Filipino, Cuban and Italian.  The dessert café will feature a variety of cheesecakes, and other tempting delicacies.  In addition, there will be a live DJ all weekend and dance performances featuring both an international flair and holiday spirit.

The hallways will be lined with a variety of crafters, artisans, and purveyors of sweet treats.  There will be a kids’ activities room featuring an assortment of exciting games with prizes.  Santa will make a special appearance on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The One More Time Thrift Shop will be open for the entirety of the event featuring an array of Flash Sales.

We have partnered with Ulster County Legislator Gina Hansut and Ulster County Community Action to host a Toy Drive to provide gifts for local children in need.  There will be a collection box at our event and Gina will ensure that these toys get into the hands of children to brighten their holiday season.  For every donated toy, receive a free ticket for our wreath raffle.  As this is a fundraiser, we will be having a wreath raffle and 50/50 each day.

“Our parish is excited to be hosting this event that is bound to become a staple in our community,” stated Father John Lynch, pastor of Saint Augustine’s Church.  “Not only will this event provide fun and entertainment, it will also help support our roof replacement project for our school.”
