WARWICK- For the past seven years, Leo Kaytes Ford dealership in Warwick has hosted the community’s annual veterans breakfast.  This year’s breakfast took place on Friday and more than 200 local veterans stopped by for a bite to eat and some comradery.

“It is an honor to host the veterans every year,” said Leo Kaytes, Jr., owner of the dealership.  “It’s our small way of showing our thanks for their service.”

Several of the community’s businesses contribute toward the event.  Mike DiMartino, owner of the Landmark Inn, a restaurant in Warwick, donated his time to make omelets.  Food donations were provided by Bagel Time, C & D Bagels, Shannon’s Eyes on the Pies, Dream Donuts, and Green Valley Onion.

“This is amazing,” remarked one of the Veterans.  “We are treated like royalty, and the food is excellent.”  Attendees were greeted at the door, provided valet service, and even received a gift provided by Kaytes.

Members of the Warwick Valley Rotary Club and the Warwick Valley High School Girl’s Tennis Team

volunteered as servers.  William Zwart, coach of the tennis team, said he was very proud of his players and their willingness to be involved in the community.

“On their day off, these girls could have slept in, but instead they chose to come here and volunteer” said Zwart.  “This is a great way for the girls to introduce themselves to the community and this is about paying it forward.”
