“We are thrilled to continue to expand our 28 yearlong partnership with the American Cancer Society in addition to the annual Making Strides Walk and Men Wear Pink campaigns to help raise funds to benefit breast cancer programs in our community,” said David Mistretta, general manager of Woodbury Common Premium Outlets.  “Cancer affects us all in some way and we are committed to continuing the fight and supporting those who truly need it.”

“I am thrilled to partner with Woodbury Common Premium Outlets on the Digital Savings Pass initiative!  Woodbury Common is an amazing host sponsor to Making Strides in the Hudson Valley presented by Garnet Health and we are so grateful for their generosity in the fight against breast cancer!” said Kristi Greco, senior development manager, American Cancer Society.

The 28th annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer presented by Garnet Health will also take place at Woodbury Common on October 15, 2023.  Making Strides Against Breast Cancer funds lifesaving breast cancer research and is committed to advancing health equity through essential programs and services.

As the only organization combating cancer through advocacy, research, and patient support, the American Cancer Society has made significant contributions to the fight against breast cancer.  The breast cancer death rate dropped 43 percent from its peak in 1989 through 2020 because of earlier detection and improved treatments.  There are currently more breast cancer survivors than ever before, thanks in part to the work of the American Cancer Society.  Breast cancer is the most diagnosed cancer worldwide. In New York, the American Cancer Society estimates 18,780 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year and 2,440 will succumb to the disease.  Nationwide, 2,880 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023.
