CATCHAM- Legendary singer-songwriter Judy Collins will perform a special benefit concert for Equine Advocates at the organization’s 22nd Annual Gala on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Performance Spaces for the 21st Century (PS21) in Chatham, NY.

Collins, who has been entertaining and inspiring audiences since the 1960s, is undoubtedly one of the best-loved performers of our time. She has recorded 55 albums, won numerous awards, and had major successes both with music and lyrics she has written as well as with renditions of songs by other artists including Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell and Send in the Clowns by Stephen Sondheim.

As an advocate and activist for social and environmental justice and other causes, it is not surprising that Collins would accept an invitation to perform at an event benefiting an organization dedicated to rescuing horses from slaughter, abuse, and neglect.

“I am delighted to perform at this event benefitting Equine Advocates,” says Collins. “For more than 27 years, this organization has been dedicated to the rescue and protection of America’s wild and domestic equines.

I urge all of you to join me on September 9th for a night of music and celebration in support of this very worthy cause.”

Collins, who is currently on a worldwide tour, has shown no signs of slowing down as she is also promoting her latest album, Spellbound, which is the first album she has recorded that is comprised entirely of original compositions.

“It is an honor to have Judy Collins perform at our gala,” said Susan Wagner, President and Founder of Equine Advocates.  “Particularly since this 300-seat venue provides an intimate setting where fans will get to experience her performance up close no matter where they are seated.  Given Collins’ background and involvement with humanitarian causes, I was hoping that she would find Equine Advocates’ mission compelling and consider performing at our event – and she agreed!”

The evening will also include an exciting live auction before the performance. In addition, VIP ticket holders will be invited to a special pre-performance cocktail party at Equine Advocates Rescue & Sanctuary.
