GOSHEN- A mosquito pool carrying the West Nile virus was found in the Village of Goshen.  The virus was detected by officials at the Orange County Department of Health as a result of continuing monitoring following a positive mosquito pool found in the Town of New Windsor in July.

“Residents should remember that even though summer is winding down, mosquito season is not over.  Continue to protect yourselves and your families against mosquito bites,” said Orange County Health Commissioner, Dr. Alicia Pointer.

Officials are advising residents to wear appropriate clothing, consider repellant sprays when outdoors, and check their property for any pooling or stagnant water.  Residents are also advised to consider using mosquito repellent.
