Sign tweeted on "X," said to have been taken in Blooming Grove

BLOOMING GROVE – There has always been an undercurrent of anti-Semitism around the country including in the Hudson Valley, but it appears to have reached new heights – or new lows – with a sign posted on a front lawn in Blooming Grove and posted on “X,” the new name for Twitter.

“Signs of ‘No Jew Get Out’ are more reminiscent of Nazi Germany than Blooming Grove NY in 2023. Such despicable anti-Semitic creeds should have no place in our society and to the haters we say – Jews have a right to live anywhere in this country,” tweeted Yeruchim Silber, director of New York Government Relations at Agudath Israel of America.

State Senator James Skoufis (D, Cornwall) was incensed by the anti-Jewish tweet. “Anti-Semitism has no place in our community. This outrageous act and others like it can’t and won’t be tolerated. I’m calling on our local and state law enforcement to take whatever actions necessary to ensure our Jewish neighbors are safe here in Orange County.”
