GOSHEN – Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus has named State Police Captain Peter Cirigliano II as the county’s new emergency services commissioner. He will replace Brendan Casey who will retire on October 2.

A lifelong Orange County resident, Cirigliano joined the State Police in 2002. During his 20-year career, he worked his way through the ranks to his current position as Troop F, Zone 2 commander, overseeing the State Police operation for Orange and Rockland counties.

“Having lived in Orange County my entire life, I am personally invested in ensuring that the safety and well-being of our community is paramount to what I do each day,” he said.

Neuhaus said Cirigliano “cares deeply about the well-being and safety of the residents that he serves. He is very passionate, detail-oriented and possesses a solid vision for the county’s Department of Emergency Services.”

The county legislature must confirm his appointment.
