KINGSTON – The State Supreme Court lawsuit blocking the opening of any new adult use cannabis dispensaries will be heard in Kingston on Friday.

The suit, filed last week by a group of service-disabled veterans claims the program left them out, and as a result, is violating state cannabis law.

Howard Libron is just three weeks away from the planned opening of his state-approved dispensary in the Town of Wawayanda.

“Not only did we put everything we had into it. We also signed leases; we have contracts with contractors with security,” he said. “We have had this facility waiting for licensing for a while now and throughout the whole process, we have been paying rent to secure this location. So, we finally felt we saw light at the end of the tunnel.”

If the injunction drags on too much long, Libron said they may have to walk away from the business.

Prior to securing state approval, he was a truck driver.
